To be honest with you, our trip to Vienna last weekend came totally unplanned and unprepared. I had so many spring projects that I needed to shoot but the weather in Tallinn was still too cold and rainy / snowy and the deadlines started to kick in pretty hard already. My mom offered to take care of Thor for the weekend which gave us 3 days to go somewhere a little warmer and sunnier to get some work done. Instantly I started looking for close-by destinations where to get super fast and where the weather would be warmer. I searched for flights on airBaltic which is my forever go-to flight company, always love flying with them and that's when I came across Vienna - a city visiting which has never crossed my mind before but I was so happy that I did it now. I so much believe that things always happening for a reason and wow you guys, Vienna is definitely a must-visit!

Only an hour and half later from Riga we were already there and I honestly felt like I was in Paris. Vienna is suuuuper beautiful and a total dream for all the photography lovers like myself, being so picture perfect on every corner making you want to take photos all the time. Which was obviously perfect for us since I had quite a lot of things that needed to be photographed😍👌 But not only for its beautiful architecture is why you need to visit Vienna, but also for its delicious food and advanced coffee culture, shopping possibilities and cultural sightseeings. One thing I noticed right away about the locals is that they really enjoy life. They're like a mix of hard working Germans together with life-loving Italians and I like it!

But without further ado, below are the lists of my favorite things to do and locations to visit in Vienna!

vienna travel guide shopping

Innere Stadt

The city center is the perfect location for all the shopaholics giving you a vast range of all the well-known high-street shops as well as luxury designer boutiques such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, Fendi, Valentino, Prada, Hermes, Rolex etc.

Pandorf Outlet

If you're staying in Vienna for a longer period and have time, then take a day to visit the Pandorf outlet near the city to shop lots of different brands on discount prices😉

The Opera

What's a visit to the culture capital of Europe known for residents like Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud if you don't go to the opera, right?!

Vienna has loooots of museums to go to on a rainy day (and sunny!). All from modern to classic. And if you're done at the museums, go visit the palaces too - cause their quite spectacular!

I love a green city! Capitals and metropolis that have large parks inside the city to go for a walk or enjoy a picnic on a bench. I always like to walk a lot during the trips because that's when you see the most and get the true experience of the place. Vienna has so many beautiful parks for a lovely stroll👌

Cafes & restaurants

Joseph Brot

Local bakery with super delicious breakfast! But arrive early, cause everyone loves to start their morning with some Joseph Brot and you'd have to wait in line for a long time if you wake up late😉

Very cosy hipster cafe and breakkie place in the trendy Neubau district. Their bowl are yummy and their serve very good coffee too.

Located at an historic building that's a university, this place looks beautiful. You can go there for breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks - but better book a table, cause it's popular!

Jamie's Italian

Jamie's is one of my favorites wherever I go cause I just love-love-love Italian food. Their Vienna resto has the same delicious menu as everywhere else and it looks so cool as well. Definitely recommend👌

Zum Schwarzen Kameel

When you're tired of shopping or want to do some people watching in the very center, then this is the place to go. Enjoy some drinks and snacks outside and take in the locals love for life and good time!

Have you visited Vienna? What was your favorite thing about this beautiful city?😊
