Exactly two weeks ago I had the pleasure to attend Berlin Fashion Week to see the shows and collections of Spring / Summer 2018. Even though Germany is very close to my heart and I always look forward to going back there, this time was particularly exciting since I was visiting it due to my big passion for fashionšŸ’›

Berlin FW did not disappoint me one bit. It was so cool and I loved everything about it from the locations to the shows to the collections to the events. I saw so many amazing designs which gave me tons of inspiration and made me look forward to next summer already. Definitely going back to Berlin in January for their next fashion week!

But now, without further ado, look below for my personal favorite looks from the 15 best SS18 collections showed at Berlin Fashion Week:

1. Anja Gockel

Named Designer of the Year 2017, Anja Gockel showed an amazing collection full of prints, bright colors, lots of striped & dotted details, bows, tulle and see-through lace.

2. Atelier About

The Berlin based brand focusing on non-gendered products showed a cool, Tokyo-inspired, collection. Details like long colorful belts, red color, backpacks, patent fabrics and karate-kid clothing were the main characters at Atelier About. Btw this was my favorite show!

3. Dorothee Shumacher

One of my absolute favorite German designers, Dorothee Shumacher, did not let me down with her SS18 collection. The utterly feminine, western-inspired collection was full of statement belts, embroidery and neck ties.

4. Franziska Michael

One of my absolute favorite collections from BFW came from Franziska Michael, whose collections are inspired from oversized cuts and a strong consistent unisex character. The keywords of her SS18 collection were fun childhood cartoon characters, extra long sleeves, ruffles, flares and 70's vibes.

5. Vanessa Schindler

Swiss designer Vanessa Schindler's collection showcased big knits, big earrings and big shoulders. Lots of velvet, tulle, cut-outs and skirts worn over pants.

6. Ioana Ciolacu

The Romanian designer Ioana Ciolacu showed a collection full of chic confident masculine meets feminine looks with oversized shirts, lots of pleats, midi lenght skirts and flowy fabrics.

7. Rebekka RuƩtz

Austrian designer Rebekka RuƩtz's collection was very young and vibrant, made for modern amazons. The key features were tie-die prints, floral lace and moto-inspired accesories. Btw totally loved the music at the show!

8. MaisonnoƩe

Berlin based womenswear brand MaisonnoƩe, who specializes in creating clothing with clear cuts, simple, feminine and timeless elegance made of selected materials, showed a collection full of leather mixed with silk, simple feminine silhouettes and see-through pieces.

9. Michael Sontag

Michael Sontag creates collections that are all about comfort, draping, construction and timeless elegance. His SS18 collection was very menswear-inspired with khaki and military green colors, oversized pants and deep v-necks. Loved it!

10. Malaikaraiss

Malaikaraiss has been one of my total favorite German brands cause of its sophisticated yet casual designs with a fun feminine twist. The spring / summer collections showed clean cuts, light colors and midi lengths.

11. Prabal Gurung

The worldwide known New York based designer, Prabal Gurung showed hes resort 2018 collection at BFW. Lots of ruffles, dotted patterns, one shoulder dresses and slogan tees were the main characteristics of this collection.

12. Raquel Hladky

A unisex sustainable streetwear label Raquel Hladky, which is focused on color and pop graphics made in collaboration with different artists showed a collection full of big prints, 80's-inspired shoulder pads, button down shirts and military vibes.

13. Steinrohner

Steinrohner, a Berlin-based brand by two designers from Switzerland and Russia, showcased a collection with floral prints, metallics and see-through fabrics. This haute couture mixed with wearability seen at the show made it one of my favorite collections from BFW!

14. Holy Ghost

Rebranded to Mykke Hoffmann at the show, this unconventional and contemporary womenswear brand made for the life-embracing modern day protagonists had a collection full of stripes, belted silhouettes, loungewear clothing, midi length cuts and pastel colors.

15. Vladimir Karaleev

Originally from Bulgaria, designer Vladimir Karaleev’s work is known for its experimental incision and innovative shapes and play with contrast of materials. In his SS18 collection, Karaleev showed lots of cut-outs, paperbag pants, asymmetrical skirts and natural materials.
