When I think of France and French people in general, I always feel like they have a certain aura of classy, sophisticated elegance to everything they do and are, being into culture and fine arts and fashion and history. It's just who they are and what they do and that's what I love about the French - the very chic enjoyment of life.

When, as the last destination during our South of France trip, we arrived to Toulouse, it was exactly like everything I described above. Toulouse, The Pink City as they like to call it or the greatest French city to visit next as Vogue pointed out, is very much classy and sophisticated and everything French. And when you are visiting a Vogue-approved city then you have to experience it as the locals do to get the full view on it. And so, we stayed in the very center of the city at Grand Hotel de l'Opera and felt like true opera stars from the early 1900's😍

I mean, as you can see from the photos above yourself, this wasn't just a regular hotel, it was a true masterpiece and a luxury hotel at it's finest. Not only was the interior very chic and picture-perfect, I absolutely loved the garden / entrance area at the hotel as well. Enjoying my morning coffee under the olive trees in front of a historic building, reading fresh news and breathing in the summer breeze was the ultimate description of a vacation. Speaking of morning coffee, the breakfast at Grand Hotel de l'Opera was the best we had in all France, actually the best I've ever had in any hotel in France in general. The selection of FRESH fruits and vegetables was huge and I couldn't get enough🙈 Who's been to France knows that getting any fruits for breakfast next to your croissants and jams is usually not very likely, so after 10 days of eating practically no fresh fruits, it was so nice to have such a vide selection at de l'Opera.

The hotel itself was located in the center of the city, at the city square next to the opera house and all the restaurants and cafes and shopping centres, making it super easy and convenient to go anywhere and everywhere and enjoy what Toulouse has to offer to the max. If you ever plan a trip to The Pink City, I honestly couldn't suggest staying at Grand Hotel de l'Opera enough💛
