Now that spring and summer are (hopefully) finally approaching we like to wear more light materials. This can be quite of a challenge since those beautiful fabrics tend to get wrinkly very easily. But instead of bringing out the iron again, there are some effective alternatives to ironing when you don't have time or even an access to the device, for example when you're travelling! I'm sure you all know how annoying it is to bring your favorite silk items on vacation and take very very wrinkled clothes out of your suitcase once you arrive🙈
To help you always stay polished and wear perfectly tailored clothing, read below for five clever ways to remove wrinkles from your clothes without having to use an iron!

1. Face Spray

Facial sprays are something that many women have in their handbags to spray on their skin in order to keep it moisturized, especially now when the weather gets warmer. And it works exactly the same for your clothes😉 Although this method works best for lighter fabrics, such as silk, it removes wrinkles when you hang your clothes and lightly mist the facial spray evenly on them from 20-30 cm away. The wrinkles will start to vanish as the clothing item dries.

2. Damp Towel

Using a damp towel as a way to remove wrinkles is a super simple and convenient trick when you're not at home. For the best results, lay your wrinkled item on a flat surface and put a damp towel on top of it. Press down the towel on the wrinkled areas, remove it and let the item dry. Then you’re all set!

3. Steamy Bathroom

The steamy bathroom method takes a little longer time than others, but it's the most popular and effective alternative to ironing. It goes like this - first, make sure there's enough of heat and steam in your bathroom aka take a shower😜 After that hang your clothes near the shower and close the bathroom doors in order not to let any steam out of the room. Eventually the steam and heat from the shower will straighten out your clothes.

4. Hairdryer

Using a hairdryer to remove wrinkles is the easiest method to try when you have a larger fold or wrinkle that will not straighten out. If that's the case, then make the area wet and use a dryer to dry and straighten out the garment. For many smaller wrinkles, hang your wrinkled item, stand about 20 cm away and blow-dry it until the wrinkles disappear.

5. Mattress

Using a mattress to straighten your clothes is a simple way that comes in handy when you have enough time to get your clothes wrinkle-free and yet don't have access to all the above mentioned ways. The mattress method works like that - roll your wrinkly piece of clothing up like a pancake and put it under your mattress in the evening. When you wake up in the morning it should be straight due to the heat and weight of the mattress😊
