I don't really like to make any New Year's resolutions, cause I feel like resolutions are meant to be broken hehe😜 So instead of making those stupid resolutions, I've been setting New Year's goals for the last couple of years. Setting measurable goals is more likely to lead to success than any resolution can. But how to set goals for the whole year and how to actually reach them? Check my 5 rules for goal setting below:


1. Commit

Successful goals require strong commitment to make a change. To succeed, you must believe that you can accomplish those dreams, so choose goals you actually want to achieve! And don't leave your choice of goals to the last minute – take time to think about what is it that you really want. If you don't, you risk reacting to your current environment and missing the big picture.

2. Be Realistic

The key to achieving goals is having realistic ones. It's easy to write down utopian goals and then be mad that they didn't come true. Think about your goals - are they really your ideas or someone else's? Do these resolutions motivate you or vice versa? Do these goals go together with  your life values and long-term plans? However, remember that there's no reason why your New Year's resolution should take all year to achieve😉


3. Write It Down

Let's face it, with work, kids, hobbies and events, most of the time you have to be a multi-tasker just to get everything done. Still, you somehow manage to fall into the routine and get things done without a need to write them down. But when it comes to goals, it's sadly not simply a matter of falling into a routine. Writing down your goals makes it easier to achieve them (it's proven that by over 30%!!!), cause that way you can visualize the things that you want to achieve and track your progress!


4. Focus

Now when you have written your goals down very clearly, set dates when you want to achieve each of them. After that make a list of everything you can do to achieve these goals. Think about all of the skills you have and find out that one skill, which will help you the most to achieve a certain goal. Set all your focus on learning the one skill that can help you achieve your most important goal, cause acquiring those new skills will get you to your goals, one skill at a time😊


5. Enjoy The Process

Remember that big success is made up of small victories😉 For example, if your goal is to lose 10 kg, it won't happen overnight and you will not lose it all at once. But that's totally OK! You can still celebrate every kilogram you loose or every time you fit into a smaller jean size. Having goals is super important, but don’t allow your focus on the outcome to keep you from enjoying the process!


Mulle ei meeldi eriti mingeid uusaastalubadusi anda, sest tundub, et need on sellised ainult suusoojaks lubadused, mis ei ole mĂ”eldudki tĂ€itmiseks hehe😜 SeetĂ”ttu selle asemel, et jĂ€rjekordseid mĂ”ttetuid lubadusi endale (vĂ”i teistele) anda, olen ma viimastel aastatel hoopis igaks aastaks endale eesmĂ€rke seadnud. Olgem ausad, mÔÔdetavad eesmĂ€rgid viivad oluliselt tĂ”enĂ€olisemalt soovitud tulemusteni kui ĂŒkski lubadus seda suudab. Kuidas aga seada uue aasta eesmĂ€rke ning veel enam, kuidas neid ka tĂ€ide saata? Jagan teiega oma viite reeglit eesmĂ€rkide seadmiseks:

1. PĂŒhendu

Edukas eesmĂ€rgi saavutamine nĂ”uab tĂ€ielikku pĂŒhendumist. Et Ă”nnestuda, on oluline, et ise usuksid selle soovi tĂ€itumisse. SeepĂ€rast sea alati selliseid eesmĂ€rke, mida ka tĂ”esti soovid saavutada! Ning Ă€ra jĂ€ta uusaasta (vĂ”i ka muude) eesmĂ€rkide seadmist viimasele minutile tehes neid rapsides - vĂ”ta aega ja mĂ”tle, mida saavutada tahad, vaata suurt pilti.

2.Ole realistlik

EesmĂ€rkide saavutamise tĂ€htsaim osa on nende realistlikkus. Lihtne on seada endale utoopilisi lumadusi ja siis olla pettunud, kui need aasta lĂ”puks tĂ€itunud ei ole. Selle asemel mĂ”tle oma eesmĂ€rkidele - on need sinu ideed vĂ”i hoopis kellegi teise? Kas need lubadused motiveerivad sind vĂ”i hoopis vastupidi? Ning kas need eesmĂ€rgid kĂ€ivad kĂ€sikĂ€es sinu ĂŒldiste pĂ”himĂ”tete ja vaadetega? KĂŒll aga pea siinkohal meeles, et pole mingit pĂ”hjust, miks uusaastasoovide tĂ€itumisega terve aasta peaks aega minema😉

3. Kirjuta ĂŒles

Olgem ausad, töö, laste, hobide ja kĂ”igi muude tegevuste majandamiseks peab olema osav multi-tasker. Kuid siiski suudad kuidagi kĂ”igega toime tulla ilma, et peaksid need asjad ĂŒles kirjutama. KĂŒll aga on hoopis teine lugu eesmĂ€rkidega - need kahjuks niisama rutiinist tĂ€ide ei lĂ€he. SeetĂ”ttu aitab eesmĂ€rkide ĂŒles kirjutamine neid kergemini korda saata (on tĂ”estatud, et lausa 30%!!!), sest kĂ”ik eesmĂ€rk on kirjas, on ta konkreetne ja kujutad seda paremini ette. Samuti on nii palju lihtsam oma progressi mÔÔta! 

4. Keskendu

NĂŒĂŒd kui oled oma selle aasta eesmĂ€rgid vĂ€ga selgelt ja konkreetselt kirja pannud, lisa iga eesmĂ€rgi juurde ka kuupĂ€ev, millal seda soovid saavutada. Peale seda koosta nimekiri kĂ”igist tegevustest, mis sind nende eesmĂ€rkideni lĂ€hemale viivad. MĂ”tle ka kĂ”igile oma oskustele ja vali vĂ€lja ĂŒks oskus, mis aitab sul just seda konkreetset eesmĂ€rki kĂ”ige paremini saavutada. Kui oskus leitud, kontsentreeri kogu oma fookus antud oskuse arendamisele, sest mida paremaks su oskused saavad, seda lĂ€hemale sa ka oma eesmĂ€rkidele jĂ”uad! Ja nii tĂ€idad kĂ”ik oma unistused samm sammu haaval, keskendudes korraga ĂŒhele oskusele😊

5. Naudi protsessi

Suured edud tulevad vĂ€ikestest vĂ”itudest ja nii on lood ka uusaastalubadustega😉 NĂ€iteks, kui su eesmĂ€rk on sel aastal 10kg alla vĂ”tta, siis on ju selge, et see ei juhtu ĂŒleöö ning kĂ”ik 10 kilo ei kao korraga. Ja see on tĂ€iesti OK! Oluline on tunda rÔÔmu ka iga kaotatud kilo ĂŒle vĂ”i iga kord, kui saad number vĂ€iksemaid rĂ”ivaid kanda. Loomulikult on eesmĂ€rgid, mille poole pĂŒĂŒelda, ĂŒlimalt olulised, kuid Ă€ra unusta lĂ”ppeesmĂ€rgile keskendudes nautida ka teekonda selle eesmĂ€rgini!
